Overthinker

29/03/2024

1. A young woman is shopping in a supermarket. She looks at a box of pasta while a large thought bubble takes up almost the entire panel. She thinks: 'What kind of pasta should I get? What did it say on the recipe? I should have taken a photo of the recipe before I left. It's too late for that now. What kind of pasta does she like? She really liked that spaghetti we had the other night, but I don't think this recipe would work with spaghetti. Maybe risoni? Is that too small?'
2.The young woman walks home down the street. She thinks again: 'I wonder if the vegetables I chose are alright... Do you have to squeeze vegetables to test them like you do with fruit? I've never heard of that before but maybe that's something you have to do and everyone knows about it except me. Maybe I should have gone to the wholsesale market instead. That's really far, though. It's almost a 20 minute drive.'
												 3. The woman is in her kitchen, looking at an onion. She thinks again: 'Should I take the onions out of this dish? A lot of picky eaters don't like onions, right? She's never told me she doesn't like onions, though. Dale doesn't like onions but I don't think that's a 'picky eater' thing, he just doesn't like them. It'll affect the taste if I remove the onions... Should I replace the onions with something else? I'll see what I have. Maybe I'll have to go back to the shops. No, I don't have time to go back to the shops.' 1. The woman leans over and thinks 'This isn't going to be any good'
												   2. She thinks 'Why did I think it would be a good idea to cook for her? I'm no good at cooking. All I'm doing is embarrassing myself. This was a bad idea.' The thoughts are overwhelming her.
												   3. There's a click from behind her, outside the kitchen.
												   4. Her girlfriend arrives home, announcing 'I'm home!'
												   5. The young woman is still thinking 'All I'm doing is embarrassing myself. This was a bad idea'
												   6. However, at the sight of her girlfriend, the thoughts start to disappear.
												   7. She begins to smile. 1. The two women approach each other.
												   2. The two women embrace. The two women sit on the couch and eat together. The title (Overthinker) is displayed above them.
